From this website we collect the contents of emails you send to [email protected], including name, organisation, and any schedule of rights you attach. If you accept analytics cookies we collect coarse usage data (pages, device class, referring site) to see which explanations are actually read.

In an engagement we process inventor and employee names, job titles, contact details, and information needed to file, renew or enforce rights. Legal bases are contract, legitimate interests in running a professional practice, and legal obligation where a register or court requires a name.

Records are stored on encrypted systems in the United Kingdom. We keep matter files for seven years after the file closes, and docket data for as long as a right remains live plus two years. Official registers are public; we cannot make a published patent or trade mark private.

We do not sell personal data. We share it with instructed attorneys, official offices (UKIPO, WIPO, EPO and foreign offices), and IT hosts, only as needed to perform the work.
